When One Has Guests

Ladies and gents, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our culinary competition, ‘When One Has Guests’.
George and Camilla are holding a dinner party, and are in a spot of bother over the menu. They simply cannot decide what to cook, so need some help creating recipes using Crabbie’s as the main ingredient. This is the chance for you dear fans to put your ticketyboo taste buds to the test and come up with something totally tasty.
To enter the competition, one must add their Crabbie’s recipes to the blog by posting a comment at the bottom of this post. Our panel of judges will then decide the winning recipe.
The winner will receive a cookery lesson in one’s own home, learning how to become a culinary wizard and host their own spiffing dinner party. What a tip top treat!
The winner will be announced in late February, so do keep your eyes open for announcements on the blog and also the Facebook  and Twitter pages.

Good luck dear fans and happy cooking!

  1. Ginger Beer Cake
Soak 8oz of sultanas in 1/4 pint of Crabbies ginger beer over night. Cream 4oz soft brown sugar and 4oz of soft butter. Add to beaten eggs slowly. Measure out 8oz plain flour and 1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda. Add half and beat well. Add the sultana & Crabbies mixture and mix well. Add the second half of the flour mixture and quickly mix. Pour into a 7 inch sq cake tin and put in the oven 180 degrees for 1 hour. leave to cool in the tin then cut into squares. Delicious.

    Topped with Crabbies.

    Simple and Delicious!

  3. How about a classic Beef & Ginger stir fry but add the Crabbies to the marinade with a little soy sauce. slice beef thinly, (you could use top rump or the more expensive sirloin steak)marinade in the crabbies & soy sauce for about an hour in the fridge then stir fry for about 3 mins in really hot pan or wok. serve with stir fry veg and a ginger sauce made with more crabbies of course.
