I say, it's a National Week bonanza!

I say chaps, there is a lot of National Weeks starting today, George and I have listed our favourites for you to choose from!

National Stop Snoring Week: If, like darling George, your partner is a horrendous snorer, this week is the perfect excuse to tell them to politely shut up. Snoring is a generally treatable complaint and this week focuses on the Old Wives tales that are meant to stop it!

National Allergy Week: Achoo! Do pardon one. This week also sees the start of Nation Allergy Week which aims to draw attention to curing people’s allergies from the obvious to the obscure!

Digital Detox Week: Dear fans, this week we are being urged to spend more time outside, frolicking in the joys of Spring and less time slumped in front of those new fangled telly boxes.  So down your technological tools (apart from our Crabbie’s Facebook and Twitter pages of course) and get active!

Spiffing Orange Facts and Tips!

Crabbie’s Spiced Orange is perfect if you enjoy a delicious citrus zing with your Crabbie’s! In honour of this wonderful orangey tipple we have compiled a list of interesting orange facts and tips:
·         Orange punishment
In Spanish, anaranjear means, literally, to “orangicate” – to pelt something with oranges.
·         Green Oranges
When is an orange green? When it's a Valencia!
Sometimes warm weather causes the skin to regreen, or reabsorb chlorophyll, giving it a greenish colour. But it will still taste great.
·         Bitter Oranges
Some oranges taste sweet and some are bitter. The sweet variety are delicious to eat but the bitter variety are best used cooked such as in marmalade
·         Orange varieties
There are many varieties of oranges to choose from including navel, red navel, Valencia, Hamlin, pineapple, temple, Moro and amber sweet. Valencia and navel are the two most common varieties. Navel oranges are the most popular “eating” orange in the world because they are seedless, easy to peel, juicy, and sweet.

Crabbie’s Ultimate 50’s film night

If one is struggling for things to do mid-week- why not channel your inner screen star and watch some spiffingly classic 1950’s movies.  George and I absolutely love nothing more than relaxing with a glass of Crabbie’s and settling down to a good film. Here is a list of our favourites:
  •  Annie Get Your Gun- A rousing musical comedy starring Betty Hutton and Howard Keel- simply perfect for if you want need an April pick-me-up
  •         Forbidden Planet- This is one of George’s favourite films of all-time. The science fiction era saw a huge boom in the 1950s and this is the perfect choice for all sci-fi buffs!
  • Strangers on a Train- one simply cannot mention the 1950s film era with mentioning the spiffing Alfred Hitchcock. Strangers on a Train is an eery psychological thriller in which Alfred Hitchcock makes a cameo 11 minutes into the film. Scary, spiffing and so 1950s!

British Travel Week

It’s British Travel Week this week dearest fans and in the spirit of things we have listed some Great British holidaying traditions to inspire you:

·        Caravanning- The humble caravan is a British institution and George and I love nothing more than the compact joy of a caravan holiday. The sun, the sea, the fact that the kitchen is just inches from the bedroom- caravans are quite simply spiffing.

·    Socks and sandals- Richard and Judy, Posh and Becks, Fish and Chips- Socks and Sandals are a British marriage unlike any other. George often displays this look on our jollies- one gets awfully embarrassed.

·     Ordering the only English dish on the menu- One could be enjoying the delights of Morocco, Spain, Africa or Italy yet us Brits will insist on choosing ‘Egg, Ham and Chips’ instead of sampling more exotic culinary delights. Luckily, a delicious glass of Crabbie’s goes with all dishes so chin chin chaps and enjoy the holiday season!

Crabbie’s Easter Eggs

With Easter fast approaching, George and I are getting experimental in the kitchen and have started making our own rather spiffing Crabbie’s Easter Eggs. They make perfect gifts (for adults only one should point out!) Make them as follows:

1.   Buy Easter Eggs moulds from your local supermarket or from this spiffing site http://bit.ly/HOk0d4
2.    Melt some milk chocolate in a bowl and add a dash of Crabbie’s
Pour the chocolate into the moulds and smooth out
4    Pop them in the fridge until they have set
5  Carefully lift the chocolate halves out of the moulds and brush a small amount of melted chocolate around the rim to act as glue and stick the two halves together.
6.   Place the moulds in the fridge to set and stick together.
7. Finally, add a small amount of melted chocolate to the front of your chocolate egg and grate a small measure of fresh ginger onto the chocolate egg and place in the fridge to set.

I say, there you have some terribly delicious Easter treats to eat with your Crabbie’s! Scrumptious.
